Deutsche Aircraft has finalized its supplier network for the D328eco regional turboprop, selecting Spain’s Aernnova to manufacture the aircraft’s composite empennage. The agreement marks a crucial milestone as the program transitions from development to production, with service entry expected in late 2027.
Aernnova to Deliver Key Composite Structures
Aernnova, a global aerostructures specialist, will produce the D328eco’s tail section, including horizontal and vertical stabilizers, as well as the metallic tail cone. The Spanish firm brings decades of composite manufacturing expertise to the program, leveraging its international facilities—including former Embraer plants in Portugal acquired in 2022.
Supply Chain Now Fully Secured
With Aernnova onboard, Deutsche Aircraft has locked in all primary structure suppliers for the D328eco. “This is a key achievement as we move into industrialization,” said CEO Nico Neumann. The German manufacturer recently rolled out the program’s first test article, signaling progress toward its 2027 certification target.
Next-Gen Regional Aircraft Takes Shape
The D328eco, a modernized version of the legacy Dornier 328, emphasizes fuel efficiency and operational flexibility. Aernnova CEO Ricardo Chocarro praised the partnership, highlighting the aircraft’s innovative design and potential to redefine regional air travel.
Global Collaboration for Sustainable Aviation
Deutsche Aircraft’s supplier strategy spans Europe, combining German engineering with specialized manufacturing from Spain and other nations. The approach mirrors industry trends toward distributed production while supporting the EU’s sustainable aviation goals.
