Delta Air Lines is enhancing air service between Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport (CHA) and New York’s LaGuardia Airport (LGA), adding a second daily flight Sunday through Friday and making Saturday service year-round. The expansion responds to growing demand and strengthens business and leisure travel connections for the region.
New Flight Schedule Details
Beginning this fall, Delta will operate two daily flights on the CHA-LGA route during weekdays, complementing its existing service. The airline is also transitioning its seasonal Saturday flights to year-round operations, providing consistent weekend travel options for passengers.
Airport Officials Welcome Expansion
Chattanooga Airport CEO April Cameron praised Delta’s commitment: “This expanded service enhances passenger convenience and strengthens our region’s connectivity.” The additional flights will support the area’s economic development by improving access to New York’s business and tourism markets.
Meeting Growing Travel Demand
The schedule expansion addresses increasing passenger traffic at CHA, which has seen steady growth in both business and leisure travel. Airport data shows the New York route consistently ranks among the airport’s top-performing business destinations.
Strategic Route Development
Delta’s move aligns with its strategy to strengthen regional connections to key Northeast hubs. The added frequency provides more flexible scheduling for business travelers while catering to growing leisure demand from Tennessee tourists visiting New York.
With this expansion, CHA continues building its reputation as a growing regional airport. The improved service comes as Chattanooga experiences increased corporate activity and tourism, with airport officials anticipating further route developments in coming years.
