China Airlines (CAL) has launched its own e-booking portal in partnership with cargo.one, enabling freight forwarders to access the airline’s cargo capacity instantly and around the clock. This digital upgrade streamlines booking processes and enhances convenience for forwarders worldwide.
The Taiwan-based carrier’s investment allows users to quote and book shipments up to 10,000 kg on key transpacific and regional routes, including Taipei, Hong Kong, Bangkok, Manila, Jakarta, and Hanoi. Initially available through cargo.one’s portal in markets such as the US, Canada, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, Germany, Netherlands, and Luxembourg, the platform will expand to include additional markets and specialized cargo products like perishables in the near future.
Eddy Liu, senior vice president of China Airlines, emphasized the airline’s commitment to digitalizing sales and providing seamless access to capacity: “cargo.one is the logical partner to help us scale our sales reach and deliver high-quality online experiences.”
Moritz Claussen, co-CEO of cargo.one, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, noting that China Airlines is a highly requested carrier among users and that the integration will benefit a broad range of forwarders from large clients to small and medium businesses.
China Airlines operates a fleet of 67 passenger aircraft with belly cargo capacity and 18 dedicated Boeing 747 and 777 freighters, serving 192 destinations across 29 countries.
In related news, Descartes’ Transportation Management System (TMS) now integrates the cargo.one Air Freight module, further simplifying the digital freight booking experience for forwarders.
