Vietnam Airlines has strengthened its collaboration with Adyen, building on their initial partnership in 2017. In 2024, the airline worked with Adyen to enhance payment experiences across multiple markets, including Japan, Australia, the US, and Europe.
With a single integration through Adyen, Vietnam Airlines can now process more efficient credit card transactions and local payment methods like Alipay and WeChat Pay. The airline benefits from Adyen’s acquiring capabilities, which enable seamless connections to Visa and Mastercard networks, yielding improved authorisation rates and reduced transaction fees. Since expanding its partnership, Vietnam Airlines has seen a 5% increase in authorisation rates.
The enhanced collaboration supports the airline’s digital transformation strategy, offering secure and flexible payment experiences to customers while integrating major card networks and emerging payment methods. Both companies aim to optimise the passenger journey, boost operational efficiency, and foster future growth.
Adyen continues to expand its reach in 2025, recently partnering with Temu to enhance transaction oversight and entering new markets. The company also integrated CoverManager to streamline payments for businesses, offering benefits such as real-time synchronisation and secure transactions.
