South Europe Ground Services, a subsidiary of IAG Group, is set to broaden its operations this summer season by adding several new airline clients to its portfolio. JetBlue, MGA Airlines, and Sichuan Airlines will join the company’s list of partners, with South managing over 260 flights across various airports in Spain.

JetBlue, the U.S.-based airline, is launching a new daily flight between Boston and Madrid on May 23, using Airbus A321LR aircraft. This route will operate throughout the summer, with services departing from Terminal 1 at Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport. South will provide ramp and passenger handling services for these flights. Looking ahead, JetBlue plans to introduce a second daily route from New York-JFK in the summer of 2026.

Turkish carrier MGA Airlines, also known as Mavi Gök Airline, has entrusted South with ground handling for its flights between Istanbul and several Spanish cities, including Zaragoza, León, and Santiago de Compostela. Since April 16, MGA has been operating Boeing 737 aircraft on these routes.

Sichuan Airlines from China commenced a new service on April 27, connecting Chengdu and Tianfu with Madrid. The airline operates four weekly flights with Airbus A350 and A330 aircraft, each carrying up to 300 passengers. South is handling ramp and passenger services for these flights as well.

In addition to these new partnerships, South Europe Ground Services is ramping up its work with existing clients. Binter, the Canary Islands-based carrier, has added new routes connecting the islands with Córdoba, Almería, and Badajoz, all operating twice a week. The airline is also increasing the frequency of flights between Gran Canaria and Vigo, Santander, and Jerez, as well as between Tenerife and San Sebastián, Pamplona, and Murcia. These routes are expected to serve a total of 1.4 million passengers.

Jet2.com is expanding its operations from Jerez de la Frontera, adding new routes to Birmingham, Leeds Bradford, and Manchester, all of which will be supported by South Europe Ground Services.

South currently operates at 38 airports across Spain, providing ramp and passenger handling services for IAG Group airlines and various third-party carriers.
