On June 1, 2025, Turkish Airlines and Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI) signed a Joint Business Agreement (JBA) in Delhi during the IATA Annual General Meeting, marking a key step in strengthening cooperation between the national carriers of Türkiye and Thailand.
The partnership builds on THAI’s successful launch of daily flights between Bangkok and Istanbul in December 2023, leveraging Turkish Airlines’ extensive global network. As members of the Star Alliance, the two airlines aim to unlock significant passenger traffic potential between the two countries.
Combining Turkish Airlines’ world-renowned network—covering more countries than any other airline—with THAI’s strong regional presence, the JBA promises seamless travel experiences and a wider range of options for passengers.
Prof. Ahmet Bolat, Chairman of Turkish Airlines, remarked, “This collaboration represents a significant milestone to develop tourism potential between Türkiye and Thailand, offering expanded connectivity and more choices for travelers.”
THAI CEO Chai Eamsiri added, “The codeshare flights on the Bangkok-Istanbul route under this agreement are expected to launch in winter 2025-2026, pending regulatory approval. This partnership will enhance route networks and open new business opportunities, aligning with THAI’s ‘Network Airline’ strategy to better connect passengers to domestic and Asian destinations.”
