United Airlines Adds Daily Flights to Vietnam and Thailand This October

by Grace

United Airlines is set to boost its Asia-Pacific presence this October by adding daily flights to Bangkok, Thailand, and Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. These new services will extend beyond the airline’s existing nonstop routes to Hong Kong from Los Angeles and San Francisco, marking an uncommon network strategy for the carrier. The Bangkok and Ho Chi Minh City flights are scheduled to begin on October 26, 2025.

Additionally, United will increase its service to the Philippines with a second daily nonstop flight from San Francisco to Manila starting October 25. In December, the airline will also launch thrice-weekly nonstop flights from San Francisco to Adelaide, Australia.

This expansion reflects United’s aggressive approach to adding unique, long-haul destinations—such as Nuuk, Greenland, and Bilbao, Spain—which are planned to launch later this year. The strategy aims to strengthen the airline’s loyalty program by offering attractive and diverse travel options.

Highlighting Bangkok’s rising popularity, Patrick Quayle, United’s Senior Vice President of Network and Global Alliances, noted the city’s increased demand fueled in part by the HBO series White Lotus.

Quayle also confirmed that no international routes are planned for cuts in the upcoming winter schedule, signaling United’s commitment to growth in global markets.
