LOT Polish Airlines, a Star Alliance member, is expanding its international flight network with the addition of two new destinations—Malaga, Spain, and Marrakesh, Morocco. These strategic additions aim to boost the airline’s connectivity across Southern Europe and North Africa, while offering new travel options to international and Indian passengers.
Year-Round Flights to Malaga Begin January 2026
Starting January 15, 2026, LOT will launch direct flights between Warsaw Chopin Airport and Malaga, a popular resort city on Spain’s Costa del Sol. The initial schedule includes four weekly flights—on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays—operated by Boeing B737-800 aircraft equipped with two service classes.
From February 24, 2026, the frequency will increase to six flights per week, catering to growing demand. Flights will depart Warsaw at 10:20 a.m., landing in Malaga approximately 4 hours and 15 minutes later. Return flights from Malaga are scheduled for 3:35 p.m. local time.
With this launch, Malaga becomes LOT’s third year-round Spanish destination, alongside Barcelona and Madrid. Known for its sunny beaches, vibrant culture, and historical landmarks, Malaga continues to attract international travelers. The city features Roman and Moorish architectural influences, the renowned Picasso Museum, and 16 beaches—many with Blue Flag certification for water quality and safety. It also offers diverse Mediterranean cuisine, including a wide range of vegetarian options.
Marrakesh: A Seasonal Getaway to Morocco
LOT Polish Airlines will also introduce a seasonal service from Warsaw to Marrakesh, Morocco, beginning October 29, 2025. Flights will operate twice weekly on Wednesdays and Saturdays, using the same Boeing B737-800 aircraft.
The outbound flight departs Warsaw at 9:50 a.m. and arrives in Marrakesh at 2:35 p.m. local time after a 4-hour-45-minute journey. This service is expected to appeal to Indian travelers looking to add a unique North African experience to their European itineraries.
Marrakesh, often called the “Red City” for its red-clay architecture, offers visitors a vibrant mix of history, culture, and sensory experiences. Highlights include its labyrinthine medina, historic palaces, and the lively Djemaa el Fna square—home to snake charmers, street performers, and local food vendors.
Strategic Growth and Indian Market Focus
The introduction of Malaga and Marrakesh reflects LOT’s broader strategy to diversify its route portfolio and tap into emerging travel demand. “With Malaga and Marrakesh, we are continuing to expand our global route network,” said Amit Ray, Director for India, DACH Region, Italy & Malta, and Head of Global Corporate and Strategic Sales at LOT Polish Airlines.
He also highlighted recent launches to Malta and Reykjavik-Keflavik and announced that Thessaloniki, Greece, will be added on June 17, 2025. Ray extended a warm invitation to Indian travelers, encouraging them to explore new destinations via LOT’s expanding global network.
These new routes enhance LOT’s position as a competitive international carrier and reinforce Warsaw’s role as a key European aviation hub.
