LATAM Expands WestJet Codeshare with New Canada Routes

by Grace

LATAM Airlines is strengthening its presence in North America through an expanded codeshare agreement with Canadian carrier WestJet, adding three new routes to its growing network.

Beginning October 26, 2025, WestJet-operated flights from Orlando International Airport (MCO) to Calgary (YYC), Edmonton (YEG), and Vancouver (YVR) will also carry LATAM’s LA flight code. The move, first reported by aeroroutes, coincides with the launch of the Northern Hemisphere’s winter 2025/2026 season.

The expanded codeshare aims to improve connectivity between Canada and South America by leveraging Florida as a major entry point for LATAM’s U.S. operations. Passengers flying into Orlando from South America will now have streamlined access to Western Canada through seamless connections under a single booking.

By marketing the WestJet-operated routes as its own, LATAM integrates these services into its global reservation system. This allows travelers from South America easier access to key Canadian cities beyond Toronto, particularly on the West Coast.

The enhanced partnership builds on existing joint operations between the two airlines, which already include Toronto-Orlando and Toronto-Los Angeles routes. The latest additions reflect the carriers’ ongoing efforts to capture greater market share in transcontinental travel between the Americas.

As of now, WestJet has not announced plans to place its code on LATAM-operated routes, and there is no official word on whether the partnership will extend to additional destinations in the U.S. or Canada.
