American Airlines is upgrading its inflight offerings with a refreshed menu that now includes tequila, responding directly to customer demand. Starting June 1, select flights will feature tequila as a new alcoholic beverage option for eligible passengers.
The airline has partnered with Dallas-Fort Worth’s own Socorro Tequila, an award-winning brand crafted in Jalisco’s highlands from 100% Blue Weber agave. Known for its clean, additive-free profile, Socorro Tequila aims to elevate the onboard experience at 35,000 feet. By the end of June, tequila will be available on all American flights.
“This addition reflects American’s ongoing efforts to reinvigorate the customer experience across all touchpoints of the travel journey,” the airline said.
In addition to the new drink, American is expanding its snack offerings for premium cabin travelers. Starting June 11, a new midday snack basket will complement the existing morning and afternoon baskets. The selections include:
- Morning basket: Fresh clementine, Cherry Pistachio Granola Bites, Free-Range Turkey Stick, Seed-Based Breakfast Bar with Protein, Organic Apple Chips, and Sea Salt & Pepper Pistachios
- Midday basket: Chocolate Chip Cookies, White Cheddar Popcorn, Cheese Straws, Granola Bakes, Nuts Mix, and Grass-Fed Beef Stick
- Afternoon basket: Vanilla Mini Cookies, Sea Salt Chips, Almond & Raisins Oat Bar, White Cheddar Cauliflower Snack, Sea Salt & Pepper Pistachios, and Grass-Fed Beef Stick
Main Cabin passengers will also see new buy-on-board options from June 1 on select flights, including:
- Brooklyn Biltong Steakhouse Air Dried Beef Jerky — a high-protein snack ideal for longer flights
- Steak and pimento cheese sandwich — offering bold Southern flavors
- Tray table tapas — a shareable snack set with olives, dried apricots, beef jerky, pistachios, white cheddar dip, pita chips, and brownie brittle
These new selections build on existing choices such as fruit and cheese trays, Tostitos Snack Box, and Doritos Cool Ranch Minis, enhancing variety and flexibility for all travelers.
American is also extending buy-on-board availability to more flights, now offering food and beverages on mainline routes over 1,100 miles. Alcoholic drinks will continue to be served on flights longer than 250 miles.
To simplify purchases, American introduced tap-to-pay earlier this year, allowing customers to buy food and drinks using smartphones, smartwatches, or credit cards. AAdvantage® members can now redeem miles to pay for inflight purchases, offering added convenience and reward options.
